Gavin W. Manes President and Chief Executive Officer Gavin W. Manes, a nationally recognized expert in digital forensics, founded Avansic in 2004 to provide e-discovery services to an ever-increasing number of members in the business and legal communities looking to protect their companies and clients from exploitation. As President and Chief Executive Officer of Avansic, Manes ensures the efficiency of the company, as well as the fulfillment of the mission in conjunction with business development and expansion into new service areas. Manes holds five National Information Assurance Education and Training Program federal information assurance certifications from the Committee on National Security Systems and the National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Committee. He also earned his Certified Information System Security Professional certificate ISC2. In addition, he briefed the White House, National Security Council and the Pentagon on information security. Manes has served as an expert witness for many legal proceedings through courtroom testimony, depositions and consulting with attorneys on data preservation issues. To maintain his expert standing, Dr. Manes continues to publish in peer-reviewed journals, present at a variety of conferences and symposia, and give classroom lectures at universities. Joe Mulenex Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Operations As Chief Operating Officer, Joe Mulenex oversees the expansion of Avansic into additional markets and manages all resulting business development. He also ensures smooth operation of all service offerings and the efficient use of resources to perform Avansic’s services. Mulenex has more than 15 years experience in information technology, operations and product delivery in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining the Avansic team, Mulenex served 10 years at CVS Caremark as director of operations. Among his responsibilities were systems management, Medicare operations and enrollment administration. Mulenex also held positions as senior business analyst, retail application development and support manager, and operations manager. Lance Watson Vice President of Case Management As Vice President of Case Management, Lance Watson is responsible for overseeing the Case Management group at Avansic. He is responsible for oversight of all pending and current cases at Avansic and consults with the case managers to ensure clients’ specific needs are addressed. Watson manages the retainer agreements and issues work orders for the collection and investigation of all cases so results are prompt and correct. Watson received his Master of Science in Computer Science from TU where he focused on computer and network security research. He has earned five of the federal Committee on National Security Systems and the National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Committee information assurance certifications. Watson worked for eight years at Boston Communications Group where he helped develop and implement innovative software technologies for voicemail systems. He also assisted with the deployment of a broad range of prepaid wireless network services in North and South America and the Caribbean. Dede Soulé Manager of Sales and Marketing Dede Soulé graduated from University of Oklahoma with Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She was recently hired by Avansic as the Manager of Sales and Marketing. At Avansic, she manages Account Executives in selling digital forensics and electronic discovery products and services to law firms and corporations. She also oversees the multi-city marketing efforts for the company. Previously, Mrs. Soulé has worked for Wiltel Communications as an Account Executive in Carrier Sales, where she was responsible for selling Wiltel’s fiberoptic network to other long distance companies. Then, she commuted to Atlanta when she became the Director of Sales for Premiere Communications, where her primary responsibilities included sales of calling card services to telecommunications companies and the management of a group of sales executives. Dede Soulé actively works for the American Lung Association and the First United Methodist Church. She is also a member of the Parent Teacher Organization at Monte Cassino School. Jason Riseling Manager of Evidence Services Jason Riseling serves as the Manager of Evidence Services at Avansic. He is responsible for overseeing all laboratory functions, including collections, forensics investigations, conversions, ESI processing, and reporting across the country. He manages the secure facility, which contains the laboratory and evidence storage. Additionally, he manages all vendor relationships related to ESI processing. Riseling works closely with Avansic’s Research Department on complex and advanced cases. Riseling has obtained the CNSS/NSTISSI 4011, 4012, and 4013 information security certifications. He received his forensics training from the Tulsa Technology Center’s Cyber Forensics Program. Riseling has prior experience as an entrepreneur, owning his own retail business for several years previous to his tenure at Avansic. Rod Baker Manager of General Investigations Rod Baker has extensive experience in the field of investigation and criminology having served as an agent with the U.S. Courts and the U.S. Department of Justice from 1974 to 1999. He has 30 years experience in conducting complex criminal investigations, Baker has worked as a District Attorney’s Investigator in the state of Oklahoma and as a federal agent in the Northern District of Oklahoma and the Western District of Missouri. Since Baker’s retirement from the U.S. Government, he has amassed more than nine years experience as a legal investigator assisting attorneys in complex civil and criminal matters. Baker is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Special Investigator under contract with the Department of Defense, Bureau of Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. James C. McGill Chairman of the Board of Directors In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board for Avansic, Jim McGill serves as Chairman of the Board of MacroSolve Inc., the parent company of Anyware Mobile Solutions. A registered professional engineer, he graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1965 from The University of Tulsa and received 25 U.S. and foreign patents in the field of pollution control between 1974 and 1985. He has founded several companies, including an environmental technology company specializing in air and water pollution control systems, and a specialty subcontractor for natural gas pipeline construction. He serves on the board of numerous Tulsa area organizations and civic organizations, and also is a trustee of TU. He was named Outstanding Alumnus of TU's Department of Chemical Engineering in 1987 and was admitted into the University's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Hall of Fame in 1992. Vincent LoVoi Member, Board of Directors Mr. Vincent LoVoi received his BA at Notre Dame in 1978, and his Juris Doctor from the National Law Center at George Washington University in 1986. He served as an Associate Attorney in Public Law and Policy at the Akin Gump law firm in Washington DC for 4 years, representing clients in the entertainment and biomedical sectors on intellectual property manners. He was the Vice President for Worldwide Government Affairs and Public Policy at the Warner-Lambert Company (now Pfizer), focusing on drug approvals, international price regulation, intellectual property, and cross-border trade. Mr. LoVoi then returned to Akin Gump, serving as the Partner-in-Charge for the Brussels group where he managed the overall European public law and policy practice. Presently, he is the Managing Partner for Mimosa Tree Capital Partners. He is also member of the Board of Trustees at Holland Hall School and the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Oklahoma Policy Institute, and is a member of the Tulsa Economic Development Commission. Joel Kantor Member, Board of Directors Mr. Joel Kantor has been working in the investment advisement industry for more than twenty five years. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1978 with a Bachelor in Business Administration, where he majored in Accounting. He worked as Vice President, Certified Financial Planner with AmeriTrust Investment Advisors from 1998-2000, where he managed over $40 million in portfolio assets. In 2001, he formed Mimosa Tree Capital Partners with his partner Vincent LoVoi, where he assists with initiatives including management buy-outs and entrepreneur funding. He is also a partner at Pinnacle Investment Advisors, where he continues to provide Financial Planning and portfolio management. Mr. Kantor is active in the community, serving and past Board Member of the Day Center for the Homeless, the community relations committee of the Tulsa Jewish Federation and as a Board Member at the Jewish Retirement Center. He is currently involved with Tulsa Metropolitan Ministries and is a mayor appointed member of the Tulsa Parking Authority. |
