E-Discovery: Searching the Virtual File Cabinet

Dr. Manes will be giving three portions of this day-long CLE offering by NBI (National Business Institute).

In the first hour, he will be discussing the basics of e-discovery, including defining the concept of e-discovery, typical types of data, what ESI really is, and how e-discovery differs from traditional discovery.

In the second section, he will discuss "Obtaining Electronic Data." This includes knowing where to look, limiting the scope of discovery, production requests, and verifying ESI authenticity.

The third section will cover production of ESI. This includes organizing the data processing, file format options for production, maintaining the chain of custody, and reducing costs.
