Avansic's Procrastination CLE (Tulsa)
Avansic will host the annual Procrastination CLE on Tuesday, December 10th in Tulsa. It will take place at Mid-Continent Tower at 4th & Boston, 15th Floor.

The faculty for this presentation will include Dr. Gavin W. Manes, CEO at Avansic, Mr. Chris Noel, Senior Project Manager at Avansic, and Ms. Christy Andra, Regional E-Discovery Specialist at Phelps Dunbar.

Four hours of CLE will be offered at this presentation:
8:30 AM - BYOD & The Cloud (Dr. Gavin Manes)
9:30 AM - A Delicate Marriage of Firm E-Discovery Groups (Christy Andra)
10:30 AM - ESI: Focus on Review & Production Strategy (Chris Noel)
11:30 AM - ESI: Focus on Ethics (Dr. Gavin Manes)

In the first hour, Dr. Manes will discuss BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and the cloud. Dr. Manes will explore information security basics, laptop and portable device security, encryption, remote access and connecting wirelessly and secure disposal. He will also discuss current caselaw related to Bring-Your-Own-Device and the cloud.

Ms. Christy Andra, Regional E-Discovery Specialist at Phelps Dunbar, will present the second hour on the topic of e-discovery project management success within a firm. Ms. Andra will also discuss the importance of relationships and communication to achieve success in e-discovery.

The third hour's topic will be presented by Mr. Chris Noel, Senior Project Manager at Avansic. Mr. Noel will discuss the intricacies of who, what, when and how of review, production, and searching for e-discovery projects. He will cover basic search language and operators that can be used to quickly and efficiently comb through documents that may or may not be relevant. Mr. Noel will discuss the use of technology assisted review and will include some advanced review tips & tricks.

The final hour of the CLE will be given by Dr. Gavin W. Manes and will count for one hour of Ethics credit. There will be a discussion of the particular ethical issues encountered at each step of ESI processing including preservation, processing, and review; this includes the duty to preserve, ethical issues involving metadata, de-duplication, and the ethical use of technology to reduce review time. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of the ethical use of technology, including search terms and technology assisted review.
