Gavin W. Manes, CEO and president of Avansic, has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Southwest Area-North.

The program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. It has expanded to more than 135 cities in 50 countries.

"To be included among this list of talented and accomplished entrepreneurs is an honor," said Manes. "This recognition speaks volumes about the growth of the e-discovery and digital forensics industry and I am excited about our growth and the direction in which Avansic is heading."

Avansic currently has several patents pending, and Manes sees innovation as a cornerstone of his entrepreneurial venture. He built on models and methods developed while working at the University of Tulsa's digital forensics center, which houses federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

In the summer of 2008 Avansic secured private equity funding to support sales and marketing efforts nationwide.

"I'm extremely happy that our company has grown into a nationwide full service e-discovery and digital forensics firm supporting all aspects of the preservation and processing of electronically stored information for the legal community," Manes said. "This recognition validates our hard work."
